Here is where our epenpals live in Rustavi, Georgia.

Extremely exicted today that we recieved our first video from the country of Gerogia.  Above is just a brief glimpse of the wonderful students that we are going to be writing to all year.  I believe at this time that they speak Russian, and our students look forward to learning some Russina words. Unfortunately this site does not allow video unless we pay.  Too bad.  It was very easy to use and not sure we will stay.  Go ahead and return to http://martinteach.edublogs.org to see the video.  We will just keep this site for pictures for the moment.
This is our main math page.  To see video on 5th grade mini golf course using math and science go to http://martinteach.edublogs.org.  It was a great success and this year I am going to invite our staff to participate.  This project brought our science and math concepts together.  I can't wait to hear what our friends do to learn math in the country of Georgia.

It is time to get organized!  Apparently we have some awesome fans out there of Smith 5th grade, and they are very much interested in what is happening in class daily, monthly and throughout the year.

Don't forget that the cookie fundraiser is starting on October 5th

Just found this site above with fantastic games to play to practice math skills.  I have so many games - it is time to get organized!

I haven't seen this site yet.  It holds great promise.  For example, I noticed a project to compare the value of sport fanchises.  Since it is almost midnight, I will save this for the nehttp://edte.ch/blog/maths-maps/xt day but worth exploring.http://edte.ch/blog/maths-maps/

Today is September 30th 2011, and we tried out the analysis the NHL frachise operations.  Hopefully we will post a video that shows our students working on this project from Yummy Math.  I believe that they can do this project and it is relevant to their studies in place value, addition and subtraction.

Did I mention how much I like this Weebly site?  It is very easy to use.  I like that there is no advertisements and that the site is free for educators. Tonight I found this site:
http://edte.ch/blog/maths-maps/.  It is too cool.  Again it is late at night but I know that I am going to do something with it - I am just not sure when I can get to it.  I feel like a collector of sites, but I know this one is in my future.  It focuses on Google Maps in different countries with numerous math activities.  It will be a great addition to my math classroom and our Multi-cultural Day in May.

Here is a picture from the movie that we made on building patterns.  This project served many purposes.  It was meant to introduce students to patterns before stepping up to unknown variables in algebraic sentences.  The technology also serves the purpose of a teacher monitoring conversations to check for understanding or for students off task.  You can see the video at http://martinteach.edublogs.org.

I am fading fast tonight, but find a great site to create your own orginal on-line games.  The size is http://Classtools.net.  I will try another evening.  I found this on Technology and Education Box of Tricks.

I really love weebly. Let me know how I can improve my hub of sites in my classroom.

This was a great activity with students using rulers and problem solving.  Watch the video at http://martinteach.edublogs.org.
